Pumpkin Patch

Yesterday we headed out to the Flower Mound Pumpkin Patch and had a great time! The weather was gorgeous. The boys have been obsessed with pumpkins since our neighborhood started decorating for Halloween. So they could not wait to go see a pumpkin patch! In fact, they asked me this morning if we could go play with the pumpkins again!

Lots of pictures ahead...Brendan is in red and Collin is in green.

Mike and I squeezed ourselves into these little carts to take the boys on a choo-choo train around the farm! The boys loved it!

World's Greatest Cat

This post is dedicated to our sweet cat, Chloe, who sadly went to heaven this past week. We learned a week ago that she was in chronic renal failure. She was such a fighter because she never showed any signs of being sick until she was really deep in kidney failure.

Chloe was the sweetest cat from the moment I met her at the SPCA. I went there wanting to adopt a sweet and loving cat. She turned on the charm from the time I set foot in her room. She jumped up on my lap, started to purr and rub her head against me. I knew at that moment that I had to take her home with me.

Chloe was with us through Mike and I getting married, moving to our first house and the birth of our boys. She has been nothing but a very loving and affectionate cat. She loved the boys so much and never hid from them, she loved their attention - even if it was sometimes negative. She led a very good life. We are just sad that it had to end so early. I'll leave you with some pictures of our princess Chloe.

This was her perch. The top of the couch was her favorite place to be.

I call this her "queen Chloe" pose

She loved to lay in the sunshine

Chloe was my best bud during my 3 months on bedrest with the boys. She loved having me around 24-7!

Birthday Party

We had the boys' birthday party on Saturday. It was perfect, we had beautiful weather and great family and friends to spend the day with! We had it at a local park that has a playground, covered pavilion and a pond with ducks, turtles, and fish. We got to socialize with our family and friends and the boys played their hearts out with their friends, aunts, uncle and grandparents.

While downloading the pictures I was looking back at photos from their first birthday party, and they have grown up so much since then! I see less and less baby in them everyday. They are really growing into little boys.

Warning-there are a lot of pictures ahead! I had a hard time choosing just a couple.
A few of the party decorations (the theme was monkeys...since our boys are monkey see, monkey do!):

Cupcakes!

After this point we had to strip them of their shirts because chocolate frosting was everywhere!
Opening presents, look at the pure joy on Brendan's face!

And a family picture. Taken at the end of the party when we were all hot, tired and sweaty. Must remember next time to take a picture when we first get some place!

We have TWO year olds!!

Brendan and Collin turned TWO on Thursday, Sept. 18th! It's hard to believe that our little bitty babies have grown into rambunctious two year olds. Before I know it they are going to be starting kindergarten. Ack!
Here they are on their "Birth" day:

And here they are on their second birthday:

And one of the family

Their actual birthday was pretty uneventful as it fell on a day that both Mike and I work. So it was business as usual. But I did pick up some cupcakes and we gave them one of their presents - a Black & Decker little toy tool bench. They LOVE it and have been playing with it constantly! I do wish I had not put the batteries in it though because it really makes life like noises of a drill press, circular saw and jigsaw!

We are having a small birthday party for them on Saturday so I'll post more pictures then. I wanted to document their "actual" birthday for memories sake. We are so blessed to have them in our lives and they have made the last two years the best of our lives. Although raising twins can be difficult it is also comes with all the rewards times two!

An apple a day...

keeps the doctor away! I hope so! If this is true we shouldn't need to visit the doc for awhile! Brendan and Collin are chowing down on apples like they are going out of style. Yesterday I ran out of apples and Collin asked me about 47 times for an apple. I guess I'm going to have to add that to my list of stuff to buy at Sam's in bulk.

Brotherly love

I finally got it on tape! The boys started "wrestling" each other about a month ago. At first I stopped them, but once I realized they were both having fun and laughing I let them have fun. It's been hard to capture on video because every time I turn on the camera they stop! Collin has been quite the bully lately. I think Brendan finally got a little fed up with him this morning and tried to take him down!
(The video is a little dark, sorry! Wish I knew how to edit videos. Also, please excuse the Doodlebops on TV...oops.)

Other cute brotherly stuff, since the transition to their toddler beds it has not been uncommon to find one of them in their brother's bed. The other night we were putting them to bed and Mike looked in to make sure they were asleep. He found Brendan sleeping in his own bed but Collin was sitting in the corner of Brendan's bed just watching him! I'm surprised he wasn't trying to wake him up! This morning I heard them rustling around so I went to get them up for the day and they were both laying on the floor, head to head singing - it was so adorable! We are so lucky that our boys have each other as built in playmates and friends. Watching them grow up together is the best thing a mom could ever ask for.

Labor Day Weekend

We had a great Labor Day weekend! (*Warning - this post has LOTS of pictures!*) It was nice to have some quality family time. Saturday was just a normal day since I was working. Sunday we went to breakfast with Aunt Shelley and then we went home to play.
Mike took the boys out to the driveway with their tricycles. They had a blast even though they still can't get moving on their own.

Sunday night we met our friends Amie and Andy and their kids Sam and Lyla at Gattitown in Frisco. We ate lots of pizza and played hard. The boys got to ride a carousel and a choo-choo train, and they got to bowl! I forgot my camera though, so no pictures of this! It was really fun though!

On Sunday we met my sisters at the Children's Museum at the Museum of Nature and Science. It was the BEST kids activity that we have been to yet. The boys had a blast, and better yet, so did we!! They have everyday "scenes" set up for the kids to play in, such as a farm, a house with kitchen, a backyard, etc. It was really cool!
Here is a picture of the boys in the farm. They got these little bags and got to collect plastic fruit and vegetables.

Then they got to ride little rocking horses.

They even rode tractors!

After that was the messiest part of the day - the water table. Even though they had smocks on they got soaking wet - because you know they had to splash hard!

Here they are playing a little music.

Then we dressed them up in costumes. Much to the dislike of Collin. Although Brendan didn't mind one bit! Here is Magician Brendan:

and Construction worker Brendan:

and Firefighter Collin:

Last but not least they climbed into a firetruck, took it for a drive and slid down the slide!
