First day of preschool

Today was bittersweet. It was the first day of preschool for the boys. They did SO well, better than I could have imagined. Collin woke up this morning and said, "I get to go school today!!". Brendan was equally excited. Mike was able to go with us to take them to their first day which was really nice. Here they are outside of the school on their first day!

They surprised me with how well they did at drop-off, they didn't even cry!! They are such big boys now and they were totally ready for school. They had an amazing day and had so much fun. They were happy to see me when I picked them up and their teacher said they were a joy - and never cried! Hooray!

I took them out for ice cream to celebrate their first day. They gave me a play by play of everything they did all day. Some of which was "I sang songs - the ABC song and the wheels on the bus song" (Collin) and "A baby girl ate some of my cheese crackers" (Brendan). They truly seemed to love it and are already asking me when they get to go back. :) It makes me so happy to see them loving school, and then a little sad at the same time that they are already big enough to attend school!!!

Edited to add:
I forgot about these pictures that I took when the boys got a letter from their preschool teachers, Ms. Monica and Ms. Tiffany a few weeks before school started.

Best Buds

BOTH boys potty-trained!

Brendan finally decided to potty-train about a week before his third birthday. He just had to make up his mind, and he was trained in a day! He knew exactly what to do...he was just being stubborn! We took him (and Collin, of course) to Chuck E Cheese to celebrate. Hooray for no more diapers (until April)! :)
He doesn't look thrilled in this picture because he hates pictures and really just wants to go PLAY!

Moving to the "Big Boy" Room

Mike and I decided it was finally time to move the boys out of their little toddler beds (AKA converted cribs) and into twin beds. Two twin beds wouldn't fit very well into their baby room so we moved them across the hall to a bigger bedroom. I decided to make it a little more BOY and not so BABY - so we painted and went with a car/truck theme - it turned out cute! All though we still need a few more finishing touches.

Here are the boys playing in the boxes that their new bedding came in. It seems like boys really don't need toys...boxes do just fine! They have played with this box for weeks now!

And here are a few pics of their room. We still need to get them bed frames - so for now, their beds are just on the floor, which has actually been a good transition since they don't have rails now.

Say Cheese!

Collin has discovered a new love...queso!

As you can tell he enjoyed every last bite and lick!

And a random photo of Collin modeling a cowboy hat that was a take home art project from story hour. Brendan refused to let me make his into a hat, so it's just Collin!

September?

How did that happen? Obviously the summer just blew by for us!! Lots of fun was had, but I am definitely looking forward to the fall.

Let's see if I can even remember how to update my blog...it's been quite awhile! Coming up, random pics left from the summer, moving to the "big boy" room, starting preschool and the boys THIRD birthday!!

Fun in the sun

Summer is officially here, although it has seemed like it here for a couple of weeks already! This first week of summer has already brought 100 degree days. The only thing to do when it's that hot, is swim!! So, that's exactly what we've been doing, pretty much every day. Either in our little pool in the backyard or to a new water park that we found here in Lewisville. It's called Old Town Aquatic Park and the boys love it...and so do I! I haven't taken any pictures of us there yet, because I'm either going by myself or with another mom with kids. Therefore, it's hard to get the camera out when we are all wet and trying to keep track of the kids.
But here is a picture of what it looks like:

We had a wonderful Father's Day. We let Mike sleep-in and I had the boys draw him a picture. We then got ready and went to lunch with Gma & Gpa Engleman and Aunt Mandy & Shelley. We then went out to Gma & Gpas house for swimming and birthday cake & presents. Mike and my Dad both have birthdays this coming weekend. So we decided to celebrate Fathers Day/birthdays all together that day. We had a fabulous time! Here are a few pictures of the boys enjoying the little pool Gma & Gpa got for the boys out at their house:
